Iceland Airwaves is just around the corner!

One of Reykjavík’s favorite festivals is less than two weeks away. Iceland Airwaves is a music festival held in Reykjavík since 1999. It has grown and gained a wide range of fans. Rolling Stone magazine called it “The hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar.”

There are 8 venues for the official line up all located in downtown Reykjavík and 32 more for the off-venue line up. So from October 31st to November 4th Reykjavík will be bursting out with music and general partying.

The line-up has been published and this year the festival has an astonishing number of 223 artists, thereof 61 from all around the world and 162 from Iceland.

Harpa, Reykjavík’s conference and music hall, is the newest venue for Iceland Airwaves, where Kaldalón, Norðurljós and Silfurberg will be flooded with music.

Tickets are unfortunately sold out since this summer, and we keep our fingers crossed for some late release tickets. But for those without a ticket, do not despair; there are countless off-venue concerts. Take a look at the off-venue program here

Planning what to see has never been easier. Iceland Airwaves has an ambitious app for smartphones and on their website  you can view and download the schedule by venues and dates.

To warm up for the festival, there are free concerts at Factory every Wednesday.

We welcome you to Iceland Airwaves and can’t wait to get the party started.
