A perfect to split up your city's stay Reykjavík but please note, accommodation can be hard to find during summer so a timely booking is advisable.

Day One.

The first day we drive up to Eyjafjallajökull Volcano we should all know so well from 2010. At the roots of the volcano we find Seljalandsfoss Waterfall were we have the opportunity of taking a walk behind the falling water. On we drive to another waterfall, Skógafoss Waterfall and at the waterfall we have the opportunity to visit Skógarsafn Museum of old turf houses and artifacts. Next we have a possibility to go on a Glacierwalk if desired. Now we can drive offroad on to The World‘s Longest Blacksand Beach and perhaps to visit the wreck of the old DC3 US Navy Plane sitting on the beach since november 24th, 1973. Then a drive on to Dyrhólaey, a 110 meters high headland standing out to the black sand beach but mind, due to birdlife preservation the headland can be closed late may – early june. Then more beachlife but we visit Reynisfjara beach were we find nicely formed basalt pillars standing out to the sea. Then over a mountain pass, over a black sand river estuary and to our village Kirkjubæjarklaustur, situated in a lavafield dating from 1782.

Day Two.

Now we drive into the realm of Europe‘s largest glacier Vatnajökull Glacier were we visit Skaftafell National Park. We can go for a Glacierwalk on the glacier if not allready done or we can take a 3 hours hike up Svartifoss waterfall. On we drive to visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon were we can og on a sail in one of The Army Larks, amphibious landing boats and then the return tour to Reykjavík, perhaps in time for a dinner at The Pearl restaurant.
